Banning light bulbs

The EU is planning to ban ordinary light bulbs by 2012. Check list for them  to consider:

+ make it obligatory to mark fluourescent bulbs lamps with flickering frequency.

To the best of my knowledge some of them would flicker at 50-60Hz (mains frequence) but some would have a more complicated electronic circuity that work at much greater frequency.

I'm personally very sensitive to the flickering and can often feel uncomfortable at 50Hz devices.

I prefer LED (light emitting diode) technology, no flickering and extremely low power consumption. It's already equipping cars and LED light bulbs are available.
